Chakra New Glasgow - Based to the Hindu tradition, the chakras are centers of biophysical or metaphysical energy inside the human body. There are seven fundamental chakras, and many believe in additional lesser chakras located inside the body. Some modern believers have drawn parallels between the key organs of the endocrine system and the chakra system.
The seven important chakras are delineated by a series of lotus flowers ascending the spine to the crown of the cranium. Each chakra has a related colour, element and source of energy and each lotus has a particular number of petals. As the chakras progress from the bottom to the highest, they govern more and more spiritual functions. As a person becomes more spiritually conscious, they become in contact with the higher chakras one by one. The bottom chakra connects with the most basic physical concerns, whilst the highest represents enlightenment.
At the base of the spine is the Root Chakra. It is thought that it represents survival, primary instincts, and feelings of security. The root chakra is associated with the component of earth and the colour red. It is seen to be a four petal lotus.
The Sacral Chakra is claimed to live inside the pelvis or the groin. It's related to feelings, sexual energy and creativeness. This chakra is associated with the element water and the colour orange and is represented by a 6 petal lotus flower.
In the region where the thorax plus the abdomen meet is situated the Solar Plexus chakra. It governs digestion, psychological function plus strength. The solar plexus chakra colour is yellow and its' element is fire. It is symbolized by a ten petal lotus.
The Heart Chakra governs friendship and empathy and it is linked with the chest area incorporating the lungs. The heart chakra is said to the colour green and the element of air. Its lotus has twelve petals.
The Throat Chakra is related to self-expression, progress and communication. It's symbolized by a 16 petal lotus and is associated with the element of sound or life and the colour blue.
The Brow Chakra is as well referred to as the third eye. It is delineated by a 2 petal lotus and mentioned to control notion and instinct. Its colour is indigo and it's connected to the component of light or time.
The Crown Chakra is thought to be the link to the divine or to signify the head of religious consciousness. Represented as a violet or white lotus having a thousand petals, its associated element is space or inspiration.
